Dorla Cecconie, 95 years old, passed away Saturday, July 26, 2025, at her home. She was born April 13, 1930, in Leechburg, PA the daughter of the late Charles and Olive Klingensmith. On May 20, 1950, she married Joseph Cecconie at Grace Lutheran Church, Leechburg, PA; he preceded her in death. Dorla worked as a Registered Nurse for many years, most recently specializing in oncology. Survivors include her children, Phillip (Andrea) Cecconie of Manchester, MI, Thomas Cecconie of Troy, MI, and Susan Herman of Fontana, WI; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and siblings, Joan Quillico, Lea (Mike) Morelli, and Rhonda (Danny) Zuziak. Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society, in her memory.

I remember those fun Easter’s in Wisconsin when Aunt Dorla would create a scavenger hunt all through the house. So much fun. I remember her stories of her April Fools jokes on her family (thank goodness not on me). Her and my mom could stay up all night catching up and keep on going the whole next day. Her energy was unbelievable. What I admired about my aunt is that she persevered. She went to nursing school not fresh out of high school, but in later years that a lot of people would not have followed through or say I’m too old. Not her. She knew her calling and followed through. She sent cards to everyone she knew including her patients. That was just how she was. You will be missed but still loved!
