Charles E. “Chuck” Schroeder, Sr., 79, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Froedtert South Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by his loving family. Born on April 10, 1945, in Kenosha, WI, he was the son of the late Everett and Florence (Maitilasso) Schroeder. He graduated from St. Joseph High School. Chuck served in the United State Army until he was honorably discharged. On September 10, 1966, he married MaryAnn McKenna. Chuck was the owner and operator of Chuck’s Sanitary Service and Schroeder Disposal until his retirement. He enjoyed the outdoors and taking care of his yard. In his earlier years, he loved camping and fishing. Above everything else, he cherished time spent with his family, especially his grandkids. Chuck is survived by his wife, MaryAnn Schroeder of Kenosha, WI; four children, Michelle Schroeder, Deborah (David) Bruzas, Charles Jr. (Valerie) Schroeder, and Carrie Schroeder; six grandchildren, Cecelia (Tyler) Olsen, Magnus Schroeder, Alexander Bruzas, Matthew (Grace) Bruzas, Benjamin Bruzas, and Genevieve Bruzas; one great-grandchild, Wesley Olsen; and his two siblings, William Schroeder and Sue Chacon. He is further survived by other special family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Catherine Grace Schroeder; and brother, John Schroeder. A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Proko Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:30 a.m. Full Military Honors will follow. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be used to purchase a tree for their property in Chuck’s memory would be appreciated. He and Mary Ann hosted our Family Reunion several years back and it was one of the best! Chuck loved his family and he will be missed.
