Larry S. Layne, 71 years old of Beach Park, IL passed away Thursday, November 7, 2024, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, Pleasant Prairie, WI. He was born August 11, 1953, in Waukegan, IL the son of the late Adrian and Florence (Niemi) Layne. On May 26, 1973, Larry married the love of his life, Ellen Longtin and they will always remain soulmates. Larry will be remembered for his (sometimes lengthy) joke-telling, his quick wit, and love for his family. He was an avid supporter of our U.S. military, and was extremely proud of his many family members who served our country. Larry enjoyed numerous sports including, golf, tennis, Raiders football, Red Sox baseball, Celtics basketball, and NASCAR. He had a vast interest in WWII history, especially B17 planes; he also enjoyed watching Baa Baa Black Sheep. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 51 years, Ellen; a sister, Lisa (Jeffrey) Layne Seccombe; niece and nephew, Lindsay (Tyler) Weis and Cody Seccombe; as well as Ellen’s family. Larry and Ellen always considered each other’s family their own; one family, united. In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Layne.
