Frank M. Vena, 88 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at his home. He was born March 14, 1936, in Cosenza, Italy, the son of the late Frank M. and Josephine (Turco) Vena. He came from Italy in 1940 with his family when he was 4 years old. He then settled in Kenosha where he lived his entire life. He attended Mary D. Bradford High School. Frank was employed at American Motors / Chrysler for 30 years in the Inspection Department and retired at the age of 52. He was a Chief Steward in the UAW. Frank proudly served in the United States Marines as a Corporal. On September 9, 1961, Frank married Mary Christine Ladvienka at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Frank had a love for woodworking. He designed and made many bowls, candlesticks, and other wooden items in his workshop. He enjoyed watching western movies. He also watched many sporting events and was an avid Cubs and Packer fan. He loved playing poker at the casino when he would go with his wife Mary. He loved planting and watching his tomatoes grow in the garden. Any time you could find him sitting outside relaxing in his chair. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by his wife Mary; children, Frankie Vena and Anna (Keith) Burnett; grandchildren, Jennifer (Nick) DeCaro and Matthew Burnett; siblings, Millie Engel and George Vena; sister-in-law Kathy Vena; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his siblings, Emil (Mary Jo) Vena, Gene (Rose) Vena, Dante Vena, and Sam (Alice) Vena; and brother-in-law Horst Engel. A memorial visitation will be held at Proko Funeral Home on Saturday, November 2, 2024, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 Noon with full military honors to follow. Hard to believe Frank you’re gone. You will deeply be missed. You were a true friend. I will miss the times we had sitting out back talking about all kinds of things your garden, your woodworking Mary, bringing us out a snack you always giving me something tomatoes, or something that you didn’t need no more or you didn’t want. You were a true man, We will meet again someday buddy.
