My name is Gloria Hornby. I was married to Ron for 40 years. We lived in Ohio for 30 years. We made so many wonderful friends. Mike Dewey was his best friend. If those 2 were not working together they were going out to eat somewhere. Your friendship and love will never be forgotten Mike.

Ron and I owned a motorcycle in the early years of our marriage. Ron took me for a ride down some railroad tracks. We laughed so hard because of all the bumps. Ron has this need for speed thing.

I cherish a memory of Ron on the day he used his newly acquired pilot’s license to fly me from Kenosha Airport over the shores of Lake Michigan and across both Kenosha and Walworth Counties before turning around near Lake Geneva and heading back home. I brought my camera along and acquired many photos of the landscape on that April day when large patches of snow still covered much of the territory. I especially remember Ron’s deft handling of the plane during our smooth landing back at the airport. I wish to extend my sympathy to Ron’s friends and family, especially his father who completed his student teaching under me at Reuther Central High School. “Like father, like son” is an old adage that is appropriate now to explain the many fine qualities Ron inherited from his father. Ron was an upgrader at Jeep who always had a smile on his face, always willing to help, show you how to do jobs, never had anything negative to say. I know he taught me and my brother alot about repairs at Jeep. It was a pleasure to meet and work with him for years. RIP Brother
