Joseph T. Bisciglia, Jr, 78 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away on Friday August 2, 2024, following a long illness. He was the son of the late Joseph T. Sr. and Marie (Bruno) Bisciglia. Joe was educated in Kenosha and Milwaukee Public Schools. He attended the Kenosha-Racine Teacher’s College and finished his teaching degree at the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh. Joe worked at the UW Oshkosh radio station and joined the college radio announcers’ fraternity. After graduation, Joe worked full time as a K-12 teacher in Milwaukee Public Schools for 34 years. Joe worked in elementary education for most of his career, assigned to Curtain, Garland, Riley, Emerson and Joyce Kilmer Elementary Schools. In the last few years of his teaching career, Joe taught English at Milwaukee Education Center (MEC) at the middle school level. Joe worked part-time for WKZN Zion news and for WRJN Racine news covering Kenosha’s City Council, County Board, and KUSD Board meetings. Joe also provided the news for the Voice of Italy Italian Hour on WRJN Racine for many years with his friends, Luigi Aiello and Mario Ruffolo. Joe also produced several historical films about the North Shore Train, the East Troy Trolley and the Keno theater 400 train with his good friend, Lou Rugani. After retirement, Joe worked part time for over 15 years for ADE and Manheim auto auctions. He is best remembered as being the best fix-it man ever, never refusing a call for help from any of his friends or family. He played Santa every year at his children’s nursery school and for any other event when asked. His children remember him as always teaching, always supporting and always amazing. Joseph is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sandie; children, Joseph A. (Kara) Bisciglia, Rosemarie (Nick) Berveiler, Paul (Cinthya) Bisciglia, and Peter (Erica) Bisciglia; brother, Anthony (Rita) J. To Sandie and family, Tom and I are so sorry for you loss, and the loss of Joe for all of us. My first encounter with Joe was as a cub reporter at WLIP, sitting for hours at meetings with a small group of dedicated journalists. When you spend that much time together week after week, you get to know who you can trust, and Joe was at the top of the list. We also thank him for all the help he gave us at WRJN. Over the years, Joe demonstrated over and over his integrity, honestly, good humor and love of his family. He will be missed, but we are all better people for having known him. Jan and Tom Karkow

It is with sadness, yet with joyful memories that we mark the loss of half of the best matchmaking couple in Kenosha. Has anyone beat 45 years? Joe’s obituary is a walk through the memories of young people finding their way through the early years of what has now become successful lives coming to an end. Supporting each other as good friends do. Celebrating relationships, weddings, the birth of children (yeah Buster)…our own little WKRP in Kenosha/Zion.. Many years have passed. Our children now have children; our car doesn’t freeze on Pershing Blvd. on the year’s coldest day; WKZN is “The Drive;” but no matter how many years pass we will always be grateful to you, Sandie and Joe, for being there for us during some challenging times in our early lives. There are many memories to share but today we celebrate our heavenly Father welcoming Joe into his heavenly reward. Today we file his last news report. Eternal rest grant unto him O Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him. May his soul and the souls of the all the faithful departed rest in peace. Amen Bob and Joyce Riedl

At birth, we boarded the streetcar and met our parents, and believed they would always travel at our side.As time passed, others boarded the streetcar ... our siblings, friends, children, and even the love of our life. However, at some stop our parents will step down from the train, leaving us on this journey alone.Others also will step down over time, and leave a permanent vacuum. Some will be unnoticed and we won’t realize they've left. The ride will be filled with joy ... and sorrow, and fantasy, and expectations, hellos and farewells. The mystery is that we can't know at which stop we ourselves will step down. So, we must live in the best way ... love, forgive, and offer the best of who we are. Because when we arrive at our stop and step down to leave our seat empty, we should also leave behind beautiful memories for those who will continue to travel on the streetcar of life.I wish you all a joyful journey. -UnknownPause and ReflectLikely you are as moved by this as I am. I stopped to consider just how true and frankly “spot on” this is; whomever the author is he/she is incredibly wise! How has your journey evolved? Are you on the right “train;” on the right “track?”Are the right people traveling with you on this journey? Do they know how much they have impacted your life?Has someone stepped off that needs your forgiveness and an invite to retake their seat on your train? It’s a New YearStart your new year off right; by getting right with yourself first. Share this with your kids, bless them with a hug and tell them how happy you are they are on your train! Then, think about all the rest of the seats on your train, who’s with you on your journey of life?Happy New Year! And revisit those with whom you have traveled on your journey. With them you have shared recollections. Enjoy this journey. Even if you have lost loved ones your friends can help keep the memories alive.Reply Clayton Lessor on January 21, 2023 at 1:43 pmSo true, thank you for the comment!Reply Rogelio Lacsamana on January 2, 2023 at 12:31 am“The Train of Life” is a story about the journey of life and the relationships we build along the way. It begins with the main character boarding a train with their parents and meeting other people who become significant in their life, like siblings, friends, and even a romantic partner. As time goes on, some of these people will leave the train, leaving the main character to continue the journey alone. The story highlights the ups and downs of life and the importance of building and maintaining good relationships with the people we meet, as well as striving to be our best selves. It also reminds us that we never know when our own journey will come to an end, so it’s important to make the most of the time we have and to leave behind positive memories for those who will continue on without us.
