Judith Ann Glover

1942 ∼ 2024

Judith A. Glover, 81, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, WI, passed away on July 2, 2024, at Hospice House, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Born July 8, 1942, daughter of the late Andrew “Hank” and Mollie (Koch) Slagoske. She attended Friedens Lutheran School and Mary D. Bradford High School. On April 20, 1968, she married James O. Glover at Trinity Lutheran Church, Kenosha. Judy was an active member of Trinity—she served on several committees, including Worship and Music, heading the Altar Guild and serving on Church Council. Judy was always willing to support and help the church with whatever was needed. Judy was employed at Badger Press, Kenosha WI, 1960-1971 and in the Business Office at Carthage College between 1988 and 2004. Judy volunteered at many organizations in the first years of her retirement, but she truly found her niche when she started volunteering with Hospice Alliance (HA) in 2006. She regularly participated in fundraising and community outreach events; she advocated for HA to spread its mission and raise community awareness of this great, local resource; she faithfully helped the Marketing Department on Mondays with just about anything, as long as it didn’t require a computer; and most importantly, she sat vigil with hospice patients. During her time as a volunteer, she was known as ‘Judy G in the morning.’ She only recently “retired” from her volunteering role earlier this year. It was her time at Hospice that made her comfortable with dying and her own mortality. Judy narrated her life’s details right down to her final days. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Gretchen E. and Daniel J. Gibbons of Geneva IL; two step-granddaughters, Melissa and Natalie Gibbons; sister, Donna C. Jensen of Kenosha; and sister-in-law Barbara Slagoske of Iowa. She is also survived by 5 nieces and 1 nephew; several great nieces and nephews; and several great, great nieces and nephews and other extended family. Judy created a community around her and her family, wherever she went. She will be deeply missed by those she held close in her heart. Preceded in death by her husband, James O. Glover on December 5, 2013, her brother Robert A. Slagoske; her in-laws, Karl and Evelyn Glover; brothers-in-law, Russell K. Glover, Willy O. Jensen, and John Jobick; sisters-in-law Delores Glover and Phyllis Jobick; and 4 nephews.Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 7104 39th Avenue, Kenosha WI 53142, between 10:00 am and 12:00 pm.
