Joseph Fred Kauzlarich Jr. 95 years old of Kenosha, WI passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born December 8, 1928, in Kenosha, WI the son of the late Joseph F. and Dorothy (Templin) Kauzlarich, and remained a lifelong resident. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1952. He was employed by the City of Kenosha Parks Department for 28 years before his retirement. On November 7, 1953, he married Margaret Mihalovich in Centerville, IA and she preceded him in death in 1996. In his earlier years, Joe enjoyed spending time outdoors, golfing and bicycling. He cherished the company of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. During his last decade of life, Joe resided with his daughter, Mary, who cared for him up until his moment of passing. Survivors include his daughters, Mary (Gary) Freeman and Lisa Kauzlarich, both of Kenosha, WI; a sister, Betty Richardson of Moline, IL; grandchildren, Alyssa, Krista, Stephanie, and Joey; and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and wife, Joe was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jolene Kauzlarich; his brother, Jerry Kauzlarich; and a granddaughter, Jolene Monday. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Proko Funeral Home. Funeral services will commence at 12:00 noon and interment with Military Honors will follow in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, Kenosha, WI.
