I just learned of Bills death. I worked with him at the Niagara Gazette in the mid 1980s when he was city editor. I thought he was a marvelous person with a great sense of humor and tremendous empathy for others. Years later we reconnected through FB, which I enjoyed. My condolences to his partner Phil and brother and his other many friends. He was a prince of a fellow.

Bill was a longtime family friend. He spent time with my brother Keith until he passed away in 1978. Bill was a very talented writer - he composed a lovely tribute to Keith that was published in the BDR. This article has a special place on my wall and my son Keith’s wall. I participated in many one-on-one basketball games with Bill at the Belvidere Family YMCA as a teen - he was a fierce competitor. Bill was an outstanding man - he will be missed by many.
