Thelma I Jenkins

Thelma Irene Jenkins, 94, of Kenosha, WI, passed away on Friday, October 20, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Milwaukee, WI, on September 10, 1929; she was the youngest daughter of the late George and Eva (Robertson) Smith. Thelma married her high school sweetheart, Edward Jenkins, on August 16, 1947. They moved to Kenosha, WI, in 1951. He preceded her in death in 2014. Thelma went to Gateway Tech later in life and became a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed at Kenosha Memorial Hospital in Labor and Delivery for many happy years. She was a charter member of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church, and is member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Kenosha. Thelma enjoyed knitting, reading, puzzling, and collecting beautiful things, such as Hummel Figurines, milk glass and spoons. She loved traveling, spending time with her family and friends and watching sports. She was a huge fan of all the local WI teams, but the Milwaukee Brewers were her favorite. Thelma is survived by four children: Dale Jenkins, Christine (Edward) Munz, Scott (Mary) Jenkins, and Carol (Fernando) Jenkins Espinosa; 12 grandchildren: Eric Munz, Jennifer Munz Hall, Kamren Munz, Evan Jenkins, Seth Jenkins, Kathryn Hosey, Patrick Jenkins, Fernando Espinosa-Jenkins, Lucas Espinosa-Jenkins, Jacob Jenkins, Andrew Jenkins, and Margaret Jenkins; several beloved great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Raymond; beloved nieces and nephews; friends, pastors and healthcare providers, work buddies and good neighbors who helped her tremendously in the last years.” Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Glenn Jenkins, and her sisters. A memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at a later date in Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorials to the Shalom Center, ECLA Outreach, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, or Grace Welcome Center would be appreciated by the family.
