It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Roger Brian Hohberger (Johnsburg, IL.) Born in Chicago, Illinois, he passed away on October 14, 2023, at the age of 78. After a battle with cancer, he was surrounded by family at the time of his death at Hospice Alliance in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Beloved husband of Karen (nee Fredigke) and wonderful father to Katherine (Christopher Bennett) and Lauren Hohberger, as well as best friend to his grandson, Shane Hohberger. Roger was a pioneer in the confectionary industry, following third generation behind his grandfather John T. Hohberger and Father Harry H. Hohberger. Roger has implemented many successful businesses over the years including Hohberger Manufacturing Inc., Hohberger Manufacturing Co., Candy Worx as well as consulting. He’s always been known as the “King of Candy” working alongside top professionals in the field and teaching regularly. His love for his family was unwavering and taking care of them was top priority. He enjoyed going out to dinner regularly, boating, and traveling. Born to the late Harry and Lois (nee Pickering) on May 16, 1945, Roger was one of six children. Brothers include late Harry Jr. “Skip”, late Noel (Diane) as well as three sisters, late Dorothy (Edward Leahy), Candace (Nick Hingel) and Donna (Keith Lauver.) This includes loved nieces and nephews. He was a man to easily talk to anyone, loved by so many and he will be missed beyond words.
