Marjorie Johanna Jones-Fitzgerald

1930 ∼ 2023

On Tuesday, August 15, 2023, Marjorie Jones-Fitzgerald left her 93-year visit here on earth and departed for her eternal home in heaven to join her many friends and relatives who left before her, including her parents, George and Julia Brotz; her two sisters Germaine Rupp and Romona Regner; and her brother Dennis Brotz. Marge was born and raised in Sheboygan, WI and later attended Keil High School from which she graduated in 1948. Following high school, she resided and worked in Milwaukee where she met and married (in 1953) Dr. Richard Jones from Kenosha, WI. They later moved to Kenosha, where together they raised their three lovely daughters. In June 1995, Marge married Gene Fitzgerald, her soulmate. After several years of residing in Madison, Marge and Gene moved back to Kenosha, WI in 1998. Marge’s sophistication, class and grace were flawless and unmatched. While she was known for her impeccable style and high heels, it was her beautiful soul and loving heart that captured the hearts of all. She lived life to her fullest; always with a radiant youthful spirit and endless abundance of love. Marge is survived by her loving daughters, Sandra (David) Ricchio, Kimberly (Douglas) Davis, and Kathleen (Kurt) Flint; two sisters, Geraldine Barnes and Yvonne Jones; a brother George Kay Brotz; and grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Her husband, Gene Fitzgerald preceded her in death in 2019. I will always remember Marjorie Jones-Fitzgerald, my dear aunt, who brought so much joy into our lives. Whether it was the lively family reunions, the fun times at Jenna's high school graduation party, or the visits to her house where Mark and I would troubleshoot computer issues, and, after the work on the computer was done, she busted out a game of jacks. Aunt Marge was always the center of the fun. Her infectious laughter and down-to-earth spirit made every gathering better. We'll forever treasure the memories we made with her.Roger & Penny Brotz & Family

Marge was my first friend I had when we moved to Kenosha 1972 .Living across the street she was always there for us. We became very close friends and her 3 daughters were there for our favorite babysitters. We spent many hours supporting each other and remained friends for ever, My thoughts and prayers are with Kim, Sandy, and Kathy as they have always been there for me and as we stood together to help each other. Bless be their families as they will miss this amazing mother and grandmother. Miss you Margie. Your friend Mary Jane Misamore.

Growing up I would spend some time in the summer at the Jones’ hanging with Sandy, Kim and Kathy. My Aunt Marge would always take good care of me. She was so fun and so very kind. She was a great role model to me. I have many special memories of her, especially her laugh which you could recognize anywhere. My deepest sympathies to her three lovely daughters. Sincerely, Debra Meyers

Photo of Marge and her daughter Sandy at a Spring luncheon given by Barbara Fries. Marge was always so much fun at a party. All of our friends loved being with her.

Marge's daughter Sandy is my dearest of friends. Jeff and I met Sandy and her husband Dave in 1990, where upon immediately becoming the best of friends, we were Introduced to her amazing mother “Marge”. I was spellbound by her beauty, and anyone who knew Marge, knows what I mean. Not only was she a gorgeous woman that took your breath away, it paled to her inner beauty that she expressed through her many acts of kindness to everyone she met. It is easy to see why Marge had so many friends! She was fun to be around! What an inspiration!! A real “class act”! That is why we are all grieving because we can’t believe she is gone. It is hard to think of Marge not being there for us. It will be difficult to not see her walk into a room or to see her gorgeous big smile. One of Jeff’s and my best memories is spending time with Marge & her husband Gene. We will never forget parties at their beautiful home, their incredible hospitality, generosity, great conversation, dinners at KCC, and of course the many laughs over a “cosmo” or two. Whenever I see anything beautiful, whether it be a sunrise, rainbow, piece of art or anything that sparkles, I will think of Marge. I will especially think of Marge when I am with her 3 beautiful daughters, her grandchildren that she loved so dearly and all her family & friends who were there for her as she struggled more and more with the progression of her illness. While Marge will be missed by all of us, I take great comfort knowing that she is not suffering anymore. She is in heaven with her loved ones that previously passed, and watching over us all! God Bless you Marge! Til we meet again!Barbara and Jeff Fries
