To the family of Marilyn Anter CardelloToday (5-3-2023) we just heard the sad news about Marilyn. She was a significant part of my growing up years in Cleveland. We lived close and spent many summers playing canasta. She sang at my wedding and at my sisters. We are the ‘Mielke” family. Sandra and Linda. What a wonderful life she lived. And so glad she could share her talent guiding others. My sister Sandy reconnected with her a few years ago. What a blessing. Our condolences to you and your family. Linda Mielke Dempsey.

I enjoyed working with Marilyn in physical therapy and keeping in touch with her over these past few years. She always remembered my birthday and sent me a card. In fact I got one April 5 for my birthday this year. I am so sorry for your loss she was a huge joy to everybody that she met.

My daughter took lesson from Marilyn for years when she was younger. Never will we forget the concerts she had, all the work she put into them. It was such a special happy time for us. What a wonderful woman Marilyn was, kind and generous, very funny and just a joy to be around. Sorry for your loss Sal and family. May she rest in peace.

Q: What 3 words best describe Marilyn and why? A: Hospitable, always Has your back, and Won’t stop feeding you!We were always welcome to visit anytime and were invited to every party and every time Sal played the trumpet at a restaurant or concert….we Always felt like a part of her family.Marilyn was always sticking up for anyone that needed help or protection.Every time we we’re invited to Marilyn’s house there was always a spread of food and especially homemade desserts (anything she made was amazing)Every holiday we were blessed with gifts and food. We were so honored to say she was our friend, (but it felt more like family). You missed out if you didn’t get to eat at Marilyn’s….

Marilyn was truly a gift from God. She came into our family when my daughter Alyssa had just turned eight years old. Alyssa found out about a singing completion at the Kenosha County Fair and she was hell bent to participate. Alyssa was the oldest of my three children at the time so I was a busy mom with not much time to prepare. I bought burlap from the Ben Franklin, cut it out and hot glued it into a little dress and painted on it. Alyssa wore it, barefoot, and belted out "All the Colors of the Wind" on stage acapela. After her performance a woman found me in the crowd to tell me how talented Alyssa was and that began our beautiful relationship. Marilyn built confidence in her, taught her accountability and responsibility and how to properly use her "instrument from God", her voice. Alyssa went on to perform in many regional live theater productions thanks to Marilyn's encouragement and support. We kept in touch when Alyssa went to NYC to pursue her musical theater dream and saw Marilyn, so full of life, at Alyssa's baby shower in January. We are in shock and our hearts go out to Sal and the family. She had a huge presence, she will be missed. We love you Marilyn. ❤️
