Micheal Kenneth McCambridge, 61, of Kenosha, was called home to his Lord on Friday, April 7, 2023, at his home after valiantly fighting cancer for over six years. Born in Streator, IL, on September 20, 1961, he was the son of Daniel Kenneth and Virginia (Wolfe) McCambridge. Micheal attended Marseilles Grade School, Marquette High School, and UW Platteville. He worked for his family’s business, M&M Grains. Micheal also drove a truck and worked construction for some time before landing upon his life profession of serving the area of Radiation Oversight Protection at a number of nuclear facilities, national laboratories, and decommissioning projects across the nation. Micheal was very committed to and proud of the various roles he undertook within his profession of maintaining a safe environment for those who worked under his watch. On October 25, 2014, he married his love, Evelyn Lloyd. Micheal loved Chicago sports and was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, and Bears. He loved live music and particularly enjoyed the music of John Prine, the band Chicago, Earth Wind & Fire, and most anything “blues”. Mike also greatly enjoyed the Kenosha Lakefront and all of its offerings – including attending numerous outdoor concerts and festivals with family and friends, downtown dining, and walking along the lakefront. Micheal is survived by his wife: Evelyn McCambridge; “Wisconsin Dad” to Brittany (Jeremy) Higgins, and James (Theresa DeRobertis) Mathis; granddaughter: Madeline Higgins; grand-puppies: Scout Higgins and Ellie DeRoMathis; nine siblings: Kathleen (Michael Leger) McCambridge, Colleen (Rick Ridenour) McCambridge, Patricia (Steven) Creed, Suzanne McCambridge, Penny McCambridge Neu, Shawn (Tanya Hall) McCambridge, Judi McCambridge Frasca, Theresa (Terry) Mussatto, and his twin brother Matthew McCambridge; and is further survived by many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews – all dearly loved by their Uncle Mike. Services for Micheal will be announced at a later date.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Micheal’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

I may not remember the time I spit on Mike's shoe, as I was throwing a toddlers tantrum at age 4. However what I do remember is the love, care, and compassion he had for those he loved dearly. I always still thought of you as "uncle mike" even after the split from my Aunt. You will be missed dearly but thank you for the wonderful memories. Rest in peace.

I met Mike and Evelyn the summer of 2018 and fell in love with both of them. I was able to share some time and special things. Enjoyed hanging out at the waterfront July 4th. Mike was one that you’d met and have a friendship for eternity along with is loving wife. I’m so so sorry for your lose.

Mike was a loyal friend. He made my time managing HP’s at BNFL better by just being him. He fought for the disadvantaged and on the side of right. Let the birds fly big guy. ❤️
