Angela “Mardy” LaForge, 85, of Kenosha, WI, formerly of Mineola, TX, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, with her family by her side at Brookdale Senior Living. She was born on August 10, 1937, in Groom, Texas, to the late Reuel Smith and Nellie (Christ) Fulgham. She was educated in local schools. In 1955, she married Edward “Eddie” LaForge. Aside from being a homemaker, she worked at Glenview Naval Air Station in Glenview, IL, with Eddie for many years. Mardy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making stuffed animals, and puppets. She loved Christmas and would decorate her entire house with more than 20 Christmas trees. Hosting family and friends for Christmas and Thanksgiving with her husband was amongst her favorite memories. She was also a Hallmark Ornament collector. She is survived by her sons; William (Jeanette) LaForge of Mineola, TX, and Frank (Regina) LaForge of Bristol, WI; 9 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way; and one brother, Ronnie Smith. She is further survived by other loving family and friends. Mardy was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband. Arrangements were entrusted to Proko Funeral Home. We will always love and cherish the memories of Mardy LaForge and her beloved Eddie. Mardy created such fantastic Thanksgiving events for our extended family. We think of her especially during the Thanksgiving holiday and smile at the thoughts of her awesome Christmas trees so lovingly adorned with Hallmark ornaments.
