In God’s infinite wisdom, He took Jeffrey Dorn home to heaven on Saturday, February 26, 2022. He was doing what he loved, living life to the fullest. He loved being with his wife, children, and his grandchild, and enjoying the wonderful views of God’s creation. Whether it be in his boat, in the duck blind or deer stand, at the farm, or just watching the birds in his backyard. He saw God’s grace from it all. Jeff was born on May 7, 1964, in Globe, Arizona. He attended elementary school at St. Paul’s Lutheran School in Muskego, Wisconsin. He graduated in 1982 from Northwestern Prep in Watertown, Wisconsin, and graduated in 1986 from Dr. Martin Luther College in New Ulm, Minnesota. Jeff humbly served 36 years in God’s ministry. He taught at Christ-St. John’s Lutheran School in West Salem, Wisconsin, Bethany Lutheran School in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Morning Star Lutheran School in Jackson, Wisconsin, and Shoreland Lutheran High School in Somers, Wisconsin. During those 36 years, he made a huge impact, guiding students in their education but, most importantly, sharing the message of our Savior. He preached the power of God’s Word and how it gives us comfort every single day and that God always has a plan, even if it is not our own. Jeff is survived by his wife, Rachel (Schroeder) of 36 years. He is also survived by his children, Erin, Michael, and Tyler (Katelynn); granddaughter, Isabel; parents, Owen and Bonnie Dorn; brothers, Brian, Steve, John (Mary) Dorn; step-siblings Doug (Wendy) Butzine, Jennifer (Darren) Jankowski, and Jon (Michelle) Butzine; father-in-law, John Schroeder; sister-in-law Rebecca (Dean) Yagodinski; and many dear nieces and nephews. He was greeted at Heaven’s Gates by his Savior, his mother, Ruth Dorn; mother-in-law, Judy Schroeder; brother-in-law, Terry Schroeder; and his step-nephew, Anderson Butzine. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 4, 2022, at Shoreland Lutheran High School, 9026 12th Street, Kenosha, WI, 53144, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 2:00 p.m. Internment to be held privately. Memorials appreciated to Shoreland High School or New Life Lutheran Church. `Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.'. This was the passage above the chalkboard, written in black cut-out and taped construction paper letters when I was a 5th grader back in the '80s when I met Mr. Dorn. There are so many good memories from his time in that old schoolhouse in Barre Mills. From the hikes up "Old Baldy" to his very uniquely dated bright green "birthday suit," Jeff brought a touch of fun while being faithful in his calling. He was a great teacher and a true child of our loving Savior. My thoughts and prayers for inner peace to Jeff's family and comfort in the faith that we will be able to see him again in heaven. Love to you all.

Our deepest condolences, and prayers to you Rachael and your family. Our family first got the privilege to know the Dorn family when Tyler joined my pee wee basket ball team, too bad I only had him one year. Then we were able to meet again at Shoreland when Andy and Tyler played football and basketball and I was able to coach with Jeff. He will be sadly missed by so many of us. I know somehow the Lord will help comfort you and your family. Sincerely Dan,Nicki, Andy and Emily Ausloos

Gregg Birkholz May the knowledge of Christ's resurrection give the Dorn family comfort at this time, knowing that Jeff to has arisen to the ultimate goal. Jeff and I would occasionally run into each other through coaching football. I played football and baseball with Jeff for three years in college and I can only remember good things about Dorno. I will truly miss having the occasional sharing of those memories with Jeff.

Our deepest sympathy to Rachael and family. Although we did not know Jeff, his impact on many young lives is significant. You probably do not know me or remember me. I was Carolyn Schroeder and was a bridesmaid in John and Judy's wedding. My memoir, North Freedom, has stories about the Schroeder family and the Schroeder family farm in Caledonia (it launches April 21, 2022). My parents lived there when I was born in 1947. My brother David was born there 16 months later. My dad, Harold, was Rudolph's younger brother and managed the farm for his mother, Minnie, until her death. My brother, Pastor Allen Schroeder, was vicar in Muskego and knew Owen and Ruth Dorn from St. Paul's. God bless you and your family as you go through this difficult time.My address is: Carolyn Dallmann830 St Rd 136 STE 1 PMB 123, Baraboo WI

My thoughts and prayers will be with the Dorn family in the coming days. Jeff was an awesome guy! I got to know Dorno during football my freshman year of college at DMLC. I hadn't played football in high school, and Dorno took time to mentor me and show me the ropes as a defensive back. He was a couple years older than me, but he was very kind and patient with me. I will always appreciate the friendship I had with him during those two years of football and baseball at DMLC. It's comforting to know that Dorno is now with his Savior in heaven. Blessings to the entire Dorn family!

My deepest condolences to Rachel, Erin, Michael, Tyler, and all of Mr. Dorn’s family. Mr. Dorn was my 5th and 6th grade teacher at Christ St John’s in West Salem. I appreciate how he took the time to try and teach me to play basketball and we both eventually realized it was not the sport for me. I also remember being at the school in Barre and playing with Erin and Michael during recess. May God bless and keep all of you.
