Frank C. Nordin Sr., a 65-year young veteran, husband, brother, and dad from Winthrop Harbor, IL passed away on Wednesday, February 16th, 2022, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital. He was surrounded and survived by his wife, Victorina, and four eldest children; Frank Jr., Chris, Yanely, and Evelin. He is also survived by his two youngest children, Destiny and Elliot. Frank was able to overcome many stages of his cancer and was able to live much longer than doctors expected. Though his cancer had caught up with him, he lived life as much as he could and was strong all the way through. Born June 21, 1956, in Wildwood, IL, he was one of many children of his parents Ronald and Joyann. As he grew up, he kept in touch with his family, no matter the distance. Frank proudly served the United States Navy before being honorably discharged in 1993. After retiring from the Navy, he met Victorina (Vicky). When they first met, neither knew how to speak each other’s language, but through their time together they were able to communicate and grew closer, having worked together. In 2003, he married the love of his life, Vicky, in Waukegan, IL. In their marriage, they each brought two (2) kids of their own. Frank had his sons, Frank Jr., and Chris, and Vicky had her daughters, Yanely and Evelin. Later on, Frank and Vicky had two kids of their own, the first one being Destiny in 2010 and then Elliot in 2012. Frank was an incredible father to all six of his kids and a romantic husband to his wife. From planning little getaways, new adventures, and being the designated family road-trip driver, Frank made sure to instill a sense of curiosity, fun, and surprise in the lives of his family. He would place family first and would volunteer at the pin drop to be a chaperone or attendee of any field trips, sporting events, or competitions for his kids. If Frank tagged along, you could count on him to spoil them and their classmates. If someone’s performance or award ceremony was far away, he would make the effort to be there – no matter the distance. When the weather would permit, you could often see him taking his motorcycle out for a ride, oftentimes taking his kids and wife on little joy rides. If there was a big snowstorm, he wouldn’t miss a beat to take them sledding. Frank simply enjoyed having quality time with family and being outdoors. That’s not to mean that he also didn’t mind spending time indoors and watching sport games, or cheesy Hallmark movies. He also loved surprises, they were kind of his thing. From impromptu trips, visiting his siblings like Pete, Steve, or Sue; to signature holiday surprises, such as putting together mini scavenger hunts for Easter or wrapping a present 15 times over for Christmas (sometimes with a layer of duct tape) just to mess with his family. During Frank’s life, he paved a way for his family and children to be themselves, explore new things, take life slowly, and enjoy the ride. He will be loved and remembered forever. Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Victorina; His children, Yanely, Evelin, Destiny, Elliot, Frank Jr., and Christopher; his father, Ron, and his siblings, Pete, Steve, Sue, Carol, and Ann. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Proko Funeral Home with services and military honors commencing at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be private.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Frank’sOnline Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
