Augustine Louis Ridolfi

1944 ∼ 2022

Our beloved Augustine L. Ridolfi, 77, of West Bend, WI, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 17, 2022 at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, WI due to complications following a natural gas explosion in his home on July 23rd. Born in Kenosha, WI on July 7, 1944, he was the son of Frank and Julia (Infusino) Ridolfi. He graduated from St. Joseph Catholic Academy in 1961 and maintained those ties throughout his life. He went on to attend Gateway Technical College and was honored to receive a Distinguished Alumni Award. Augustine continued his education at University of Wisconsin- Parkside and earned his Master’s degree in Business from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo, MI. He was a founding employee of the Moraine Park Technical College and a passionate educator of Marketing and Business for 33 years where he formed lifelong friendships with colleagues and students. He was a community member of St. Mary’s Immaculate Conception Parish in the Town of Barton for 50 years. Augie, as he was known by family and friends (and Gusty, by his father), was a humble, unassuming, gentle and intelligent soul. In grade school he excelled and skipped the 3rd grade. From an early age he loved the outdoors, especially hunting pheasants and fishing with his father and son. He shared these passions with his family and friends, though no one could compete with his trophy-winning marksmanship. He also loved cars–particularly “sleepers” that were more powerful than they appeared, just like him. He was famous around town for the ‘55 Chevy he custom painted in metallic teal green, his favorite color. Weekend evenings were spent “scooping the loop” with friends like a scene from the movie American Graffiti. Augie was an avid gardener, a skill he learned from both his parents, especially his mother. His jarred hot peppers were treasured like gold by all who were lucky enough to get some. He loved cooking (and eating!) his family’s Italian American recipes with loved ones and passing along traditions like making sausage. He also could play a mean accordion. Charming, handsome and wryly humorous his whole life, Augie would win over anyone with few words and “the look,” a twinkle in his eye and a Mona Lisa smile with his head turned slightly to the side. To those closest to him, he was the strongest, most courageous and deeply spiritual person they knew. Even in his last, difficult days, he put up a heroic fight. Survivors include his two children, Frankie J. Ridolfi (Noa M.G.) and Christina M. (Donald R. Myhre) Ridolfi; sister, Gloria Peterson, (DeAngelis), his beloved Mary Broten and three nephews He was preceded in death by his loving parents. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 25th, at Proko Funeral Home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. Mass intentions will be said for Augustine on February 3, July 7 and July 25 at St. Mary’s in West Bend at 6:15am, his favored time (“short with no music”) before coffee with friends. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary’s, 406 Jefferson Street, West Bend, WI 53090. Donations will be used to purchase a leaf on the Tree of Life in Augustine’s name. Our family would appreciate it if you could share a special memory on the digital guestbook.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111 60th Street Kenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654 3533Visit & Sign Augustine’s Online Memorial Book At:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Augie was a very kind and thoughtful person. We met while teaching marketing classes, with Augie being in West Bend and I in Fond du Lac. We had many discussions over the years which led to a long lasting friendship. After retirement we would get together for dinner with he and Mary during our summer times in Wisconsin and he was always interested in our life in Arizona. I believe he and Mary would have visited us in Arizona at some time. We miss Augie, but know that he is in a better place. RIP my dear friend.Arnie & Julie Hastings

As colleagues at MPTC, Augie and I shared the enjoyment of encouraging our students to learn. Retiring together in 2002, we often thought we could have worked full time a bit longer. At our coffee get togethers, thoughts quickly moved on to cars, investments and politics. As much as I tried to push him into Subarus, he loved his Jeep. We enjoyed each other’s opinion, probably because we’re pretty much on the same page. Rest In Peace my friend, you’ll be missed.Daniel & Eunice Buretta

I was sorry to read that Augie had passed away. While I hadn't seen him in many years, I knew him as a student when I taught Marketing at K.T.I./G.T.C. He was a good student and I was proud to see that he went onto Western Michigan University, my alma mater, and got a teaching degree. He was one of four students that I worked with in those early years, that went on to become instructors in the Wisconsin Technical College system. I'm sure he did a great job as a teacher, and helped many students pursue, and reach, their career goals. Rest in peace Augie, I am proud that you made a positive difference to the hundreds of students and friends you touched.

I had the good fortune of being one of Augie's students at Moraine Park in 1975. Having three teachers in my family, I appreciate the value of a quality teacher. I to this day continue to considered him one of the most influential people in my life.. He taught me skills about business, problem solving and maybe more importantly, how to continue learning when no longer in school. I always enjoyed "bumping" in to Augie occasionally around town. I hope he realized how many life's he had a positive impact on.Bink Steinbach

I worked with Augie at Moraine Park for many years; he at the West Bend campus and myself at the Fond du Lac campus. I will always remember Augie as a very kind, gentle person with a winning smile who always had the best interests of the students at heart. May God comfort you during this difficult time.

Augie and I first met in August 1978 when I was hired by Moraine Park Technical College. Over the many years since that time Augie and I became very good friends. From time to time we would meet for breakfast or lunch at the Omicron restaurant in West Bend. Before the sad passing of our colleague, Ray Zingsheim, the three of us would meet for breakfast at Jimmy's Diner in Jackson. Sometimes our discussions would last until noon, and the waitress would jokingly ask if we were also staying for lunch. I will greatly miss Augie. He was a decent, honest, and humble man. After spending time with Augie, often I would sense a serene quietude. I can only attribute this to Augie's deep spirituality and his love for his fellow man. I pray that Augie is now at peace and resides with our Creator and those that have passed and loved him during his life.

I had the distinct pleasure of knowing Augie back in the early 70's while living in Wisconsin. His personality/demeanor was one I've never forgotten, accommodating, intelligent, practical, always considering others and in an exemplary way. He was a role model one could easily aspire to.......real class. One of those few people in life that leave a lasting positive impact and who certainly contributed to my success. He'll be missed, but the good memories live on.Jeff Martin Also dressed for success. Will miss him dearly but never forget his impact on my life.Jeff Martin

Dear Frankie and Christina,Our heartfelt condolences go out to you as you say goodbye to your Dad and loved one.Augie was our good friend and neighbor since we all moved here in the 70's. We laughed, planted trees, raised families and helped each other whenever needed. Augie brought a lot of encouragement and joy to this world. Rest in Peace.

I got to acquaint Augie through my father, Ray Zingsheim, with whom he taught for many years at Moraine Park Technical College. My wife and I would run into him at Panera in West Bend on Sunday mornings and we would talk for a bit about my Dad, and how things were going. He was such a kind, gentle soul and he will be missed by all of us that were fortunate enough to be in his orbit, even if just on the periphery.

I'm so sorry Augie lost his battle to survive, after fighting so hard and with so much courage. I only met him briefly but learned so much about him through Gloria and wish I could have had the privilege of knowing him many years ago. May our Lord grant his loved ones peace and comfort in their grieving, and may Augie rest in the arms of the angels. Elviera Mancini

I was fortunate to have Augie as a teacher at MPTI in 1971. He was the best educator I ever met and helped me to find myself and fulfill my dream. Words cannot express the deep sadness felt with his passing. Moving to Florida in 1977 may have kept me miles away from him but he was never forgotten and staying in touch, although not frequent, was important. Our trips back home included a visit with him. My thoughts and prayers are with his family. Thank you, Augie, for giving me that "push" that I needed back then!

I never had the chance to meet Augie, but Frankie's love for his father is enough for me to know that he was a great human being who had positive influence on his son and daughter and all those who love him. May he Rest In Peace.

I was just asking about him earlier this week then I read the sad news this morning. I had been praying for him in the hopes that it would somehow ease his pain. As a former student I had great respect for Augie, he was a great instructor and a kind, kind man. As a member of Saint Mary Immaculate Conception Parish I will continue to keep him close. God bless, Judy (Kanieski) Spaeth
