Dennis A. Hoey Jr., 63 years old of Pleasant Prairie, WI passed away Thursday, December 16, 2021, at his home. He was born June 4, 1958, in Kenosha, the son of the late Dennis and Mabel (Leach) Hoey and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School, Kenosha, WI. He went on to earn Bachelor of Science and Master of Business Administration degrees from University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Master of Arts in Education from National Louis University. He met Eva Howard at a Milwaukee Brewers game, and on August 10, 1985, they wed at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church, Kenosha, WI; they settled in Pleasant Prairie 20 years ago. Denny held various jobs throughout his life; more recently, he worked in Quality Assurance for Abbott Laboratories and presently, for Asyst Technologies. He also taught mathematics with Racine and Kenosha Unified School Districts for several years and was an adjunct professor at University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Denny also tutored many students in Algebra. His interests included watching sports and cheering on the Milwaukee Brewers and the Green Bay Packers; he had a love for college sports, especially the Wisconsin Badgers and the Oklahoma Sooners. Denny and Eva were proud to be a longtime host family for the Kenosha Kingfish. He also enjoyed watching and quoting old movies, fishing, and golfing with his 7-iron in the annual Labor Day Golf Outing. Denny was a beer connoisseur, and he particularly enjoyed Belgian Ales. Survivors include his wife, Eva; sons, Jake (Megan Weaver) Hoey of Kenosha, WI and Ryan Hoey of Milwaukee, WI; his sister, Kathleen (Rick) Taylor of Kenosha, WI; several in-laws, nieces and nephews; and many friends. A memorial Irish Wake will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Proko Funeral Home.
