Michael Hughes (Michael Zedan El-Aboudi), 54 years old of Wadsworth, IL, passed away peacefully on December 11th, 2021. He was born January 9, 1967, to David and Mariam (Jacob) El-Aboudi. Mike grew up in Waukegan, IL and was a graduate of Waukegan West High School, class of 1985. Mike also attended Northern Illinois University. He led a successful career in the produce business and was well known at the Chicago Produce Market. You might remember him from Bowlarium Lanes, his family-owned business, where he worked, learned of a passion for the sport of bowling, and passed that passion on to his children. Mike was always known as someone who was selfless by helping others, loyal, devoted to his family, and gave, yet never expected anything in return. He is survived by his wife of 32 years (and best friend of 37 years), Carrie Ann Hughes; his adoring children, Emily, Brett, and Tyler Hughes; parents, David & Mariam El-Aboudi; mother and father-in-law, Audrey and Gary Hughes; sisters, Ruthann (Stuart) Vinnes, Elaine El-Aboudi (Parley Casto); nieces and nephew, Elizabeth and Abigail Vinnes, Olivia and David Holub; and cousin, Bill (Susan) Nazha. Mike is further survived by many close friends, business partners and colleagues. A Celebration for Mike will be held privately, please reach out to the Hughes family for additional service details. So many great days with Mike! One of my best childhood friends! Loyal, responsible, wise beyond his years and always more “grown up” than me. So sorry to hear this news and I can only wish Carrie, the kids and his extended family peace during these difficult and trying days.
