Merle Lee Olson, 75, of Pleasant Prairie passed away Saturday November 27, 2021, at Froedtert Pleasant Prairie Hospital, Pleasant Prairie, WI. Merle was born in Chicago on October 14, 1946. He was the second son of Russell Olson and Nelle (Gustafson) Gerts. Merle Married the love of his life Sharon in 1971. He worked at Fermilab as a mechanical engineer draftsman for 25 years. Merle spent his 10 years of retirement surrounding himself with family and friends, enjoying each addition to his growing family. He also spent his time fishing and researching his family ancestry. Merle is preceded in death by his parents and siblings Verne, Verla, and Jack. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Sharon Olson, his twin brother Martin, his children Ebba, Sandra, George, Terry, Stacy, and Christie. He also leaves behind 14 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Proko Funeral Home with services commencing at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private in Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva, IL.
