Joseph A. Leonardi, 62, of Kenosha passed away on Wednesday, October 20, 2021 at Froedert Pleasant Prairie Hospital. Born in Kenosha on July 7, 1959, he was the son of the late Nicola and Giannina (Censori) Leonardi. Joe graduated from Bradford HS and then went on to receive his BS degree in accounting from UW Parkside, as well as earning a CPA designation. After working briefly as an accountant, Joe earned a JD degree from The John Marshall School of Law in Chicago. For more than 30 years, Joe provided legal advice through his firm, The Law Offices of Joseph A. Leonardi. He became a trusted legal advisor to countless clients, many of whom would become cherished friends. Joe also sought to share his knowledge and experience with others through many years of mentoring, and teaching law as a college professor. Joe was humble and unassuming, but would fight like a lion in his pursuit of justice for all. In his leisure time, Joe loved Chicago blues music, cooking, rooting for the Bears and, most importantly, sharing of himself with his beloved family and many friends. Survivors include his three siblings, Mary Ferraro, Josephine (Rick) Tucker, Theresa (Ron) Allen; nieces and nephews, Louis (Julie) Ferraro, Flora (Mark) Ward, Amy (Andy) Miller; great-nieces and great-nephews, Tony, Maria, Gina, Felicity, Vincent, Nicholas and Isabella; and aunts and uncles in Italy, Pietro (Ginetta) Censori and Giovanni (Maria Lisa) Censori. In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Tony Ferraro. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 28, at Proko Funeral Home from 9:30 AM until 11:15 AM. I went to school with Joe and remember him as one who always had a big smile on his face and a gleam in his eye. He was far too young to have left this earth. I know he will be sorely missed by many. Sending my condolences to all who were fortunate enough to have had Joe touch their lives. Warm memories and blessings to all...

We are saddened and will miss Joe very much! His friendship with us was always genuine and sincere that always had a laugh or two along with his bright legal mind whenever we discussed any local or world issues with him. Joe had a kind and loving heart. Going out to breakfast and visiting him were great times. Our condolences to his family.Beau and Diane Bosovich

My condolences to Joe’s family. We were in the same class at John Marshall Law School. He was one of my best friends during law school. We’ve kept in touch over the years, and although we didn’t talk often, we would pick up right where we left off each time we connected. He had such an infectious laugh, and I will miss that along with his teasing. May the happy memories that you have help you during this difficult time.

I met Joe when I worked as an assistant in his law office in Chicago right out of college. He was immediately welcoming and friendly and endlessly giving. He helped me settle debts, drove me home, bought me lunch, and was just always a joy to be around. He made me laugh a lot. He never asked for a thing. I wish I could have repaid his generosity. I am happy to have known him.

I appreciated all the business advice he gave to me before I decided to start my own business. He will be greatly missed and I send my most heartfelt condolences to the family.
