Derek Henry Mayer, 39 years old of Kenosha, WI, formerly Oshkosh, WI, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021, at his home. He was born July 27, 1982, in Chicago, IL, the son of Randy Mayer Sr. and Diane (Krueger) Mayer. He grew up in Kenosha, WI and on July 29, 2017, he married Denise Smith in Yellowstone National Park. Derek was an Oneida Nation Tribal Member and enjoyed playing Dungeons and Dragons; he was described as a “jokester”, always making people laugh. Survivors include his wife, Denise; his mother, Diane Mayer; brothers, Randy Mayer Jr., and Jonas Mayer. He is further survived by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and many friends. Derek was preceded in death by his father, Randy, and his grandparents. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service at 6:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
