Clara Birgit Rasch passed away Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Brookdale Senior Living, Kenosha, WI. She was born July 27, 1934, in Kenosha, WI the daughter of the late Oscar and Ester (Gustaffson) Selander. Birgit attended schools in Kenosha and Stockholm, Sweden, and graduated from Mary D. Bradford High School in 1952. On June 12, 1954, she married Jacob Rasch at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Kenosha, WI and he preceded her in death January 12, 2009. She had previously been employed at Coopers, Inc. Midway Manor and Kenosha Unified School District. Birgit was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Kenosha, the Altar Guild, and Women in Christian Service, there. She had been active in Jazzercise and enjoyed traveling. Birgit was extremely proud of her Swedish heritage. She and her husband traveled extensively in the U.S., Europe, Caribbean, Mexico and on numerous cruises. Survivors include her children, Alan (Cathy) Rasch, Brian Rasch and David Rasch, and Judy Rasch; five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Birgit was preceded in death by two brothers, Perry and Lars Selander and a sister, Kerstin Selander. Funeral services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 5927 37th Avenue, Kenosha, WI, in her memory.
