I never realized his middle name is spelled the same as my bother's name, Allen Swift (aka Butch). Vance gave me my nickname Mini Butch which still hangs on today. My mother called me Min or Mini up until she died. So glad I had a chance to talk with Vance recently. Same old Vance. Man, I miss that guy. Going to have some stuffed peppers thinking of him eating them at my mom's house on 33rd. I am really missing not being able to be home in Kenosha tomorrow. My next visit home, whenever that is, will not be the same.

Creepy crawlers. I know this sounds crazy but it is the first memory I have of this great man. We grew up a few door away from each other and as a child I remember making rubber insects with him and his brother Vern at their house. I am missing you my brother. Your smile was infectious between the beers and the ball games we had many laughs with our McKinley gang. Keep a spot saved for me up there. I will look forward to seeing you and Vern again. You touched many people in your life, now it's up to us to carry on for you. We will fail to fill your shoes, but a challenge to pick up the sprit of others, as you did, is ours now.
