Mike really impacted my life as a great mentor and friend in the early days of my career. He offered wisdom and insight that contributed to not only my career, but my life. Clearly he cared about people, had a great sense of humor and you knew he always had your back. I received the usual Christmas letter from he and Linda this year, realized I hadn't spoken with him in a while and was shocked to find his obituary while googling for his phone number. I am so sorry for his loss. He may be gone but the contribution he made to my life, and I am sure many others, lives on.

Dear Linda, my sincere condolences to you and your family. Mike sure knew his music and I was lucky to enjoy both of you in our Strummer’s group - you both added so much to the music in our area. Mike made a difference in many positive ways to all who knew him. May you find peace and comfort in the loving memories of his life spent with you, family members, and many friends.

I am so very sad to hear of Mike's passing. He was such a kind, intelligent man. I really enjoyed visiting with Mike and Linda. More recently I've enjoyed reading Mike's articles in the newspaper. Mike will be missed. Linda, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I so enjoyed working with Mike at the AARP tax preparation sites. He was fun to be with and had so many interesting stories. His music was very pleasant to listen to. My sympathy goes out to Linda. May you rest in eternal peace, my friend! I believe God has a special place ready for you.Signed: Diane "Dee" Schoen.

No one could ask for a better friend than Mike Kirchen. We will always look back with fond memories to the times we spent with Mike on the hiking trails, playing in the Hendersonville Community Band and Hendersonville Swing Band and working with the Friends of the Library. If you look up the word "patriot" in the dictionary, you will probably see Mike's photo next to it. The World was a better place with Mike Kirchen in it.Gail and Jerry Zink

Having went to cub scouts, high school together I have many memories of basketball and football games which we played in as a team. Have not heard from Mike since 1965, when we met up in Vietnam. He was based not to far from me so he got in a copper and flew to where I was. Somehow he pulled some strings for me to go back with him to his base. I enjoyed it very much, as it was my first hot shower and clean sheets in a few months, as my outfit was living in foxholes. The next morning we said goodby and wished each other the best of luck. Now Mike I wish you the best, on your new journey.Roger Hansentucsbr12@yahoo.com

My brother Art and I were talking about Michael today and we said we don’t remember a time when he was not a part of our lives from the time we were small until now. He will be missed
