My sincere condolences to Lissa and the entire Schmitz family. I’ve known Dave since St. Mary’s and played baseball with him at St. Joes. Every memory I have of him makes me smile and especially laugh. Dave was hilarious! We both played in the outfield together and I recall his baseball references including “can of corn” & “red palm”. I enjoyed watching him play drums with Fred on guitar in his basement. I just thought of him yesterday while mowing the lawn with my John Deer he recently serviced. God Bless you all and rest easy Dave.

Carl and Marilyn Sevey and Son, John SeveyWe send our sympathy to Bernie and Fran and all of the family for the loss of David. We have known all of the guys since grade school at St. Marys. Many trips were made to the store and we always received the best service from them. Whether we needed parts or a snowblower, they always had what was needed. We are sorry for you loss. You are in all our thoughts and prayers.

I was shocked to hear of Dave’s passing. What an absolute tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dave and his family. I was fortunate to be able to play hockey with Dave at St. Norbert. We were not the best team but we had a great time win or lose. That was because of great guys like Dave. He could lift your spirits with a simple smile or funny comment. If you were near Dave you were probably laughing and having a great time. Anyone who met Dave liked him. I feel truly blessed for the short time I got to spend with him. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy to Dave’s family and friends. I had the pleasure of knowing him over the last 10 years and had struck a great relationship with him as an advisor and true friend. He had done so many things for so many. I remember when my friend’s severely autistic son, Anthony, wanted to come see the “wolf” - Chief. Dave encouraged me to have the Anthony come in and let me know when Chief would be “at work“. Anthony was so excited. To this day Anthony still has Chief’s picture. This was just the type of person Dave was. He gave so much to so many. May God let him Rest In Peace and provide his family and friends with comfort.

Dave was a friend and teammate of mine at SNC, and this news is heartbreaking. He was a great person above and beyond most and that is what I remember most. His laugh, his smile, the stories we shared and the times we spent on the road for hockey. My deepest condolences to his family and dear friends. The world lost another amazing person, mentor and man that lived life to the fullest and made everyone around him a better person. God rest your soul my friend, God's strength to your family.

I only knew Dave as a 15 year Highway C customer. Dave always treated me fair, honestly, and made me feel better about myself. When I was buying a zero turn lawn mower, Dave encouraged me to buy the cheaper mower for $500 less because Dave said the more inexpensive mower had a better engine and transmission. I never forgot Dave's integrity with my first Highway C purchase. Thanks to mainly to Dave I kept returning as a customer to Highway C Service. Rest in peace, Dave. You are fondly remembered.
