Rosalie C. Gentile

1934 ∼ 2020

Rosalie C. Gentile, 86, a lifelong resident of Kenosha, went to her eternal home on Tuesday, August 18, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Kenosha, on March 28, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Angeline (Arena) Rizzo. On November 24, 1960, she married Robert Gentile at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Faith and the congregation at Holy Rosary, which was her second home, were extremely important to her. She was one of the first children to be baptized there, was an affiliate of The Augustinians, and served as the church secretary from 1970 until her retirement 36 years later in 2006. Rosalie was involved in every church activity and celebrated all Holy days of obligation. Aside from her love of God, Rosalie had a great love for her family and friends with whom she enjoyed entertaining in her home and was a lifelong Green Bay Packers fan. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert; four daughters, Lisa (Roy Stone) Gentile of Kenosha, Carla (Brandon Day) Gentile and Maria (Hayley Brebner) Gentile, both of Los Angeles, CA, and Sabrina Gentile of Madison; two grandsons, Michael (Aleli) Davey and Dominic Gentile; two great-grandsons, Leo and John; and two special nieces, Rhonda Rizzo and Mari Cucunato. She is further survived by other relatives and friends. Preceding Rosalie in death are her parents; two brothers, Michael and John Rizzo; and her niece, Lara Rizzo. The family would like to thank Hospice Alliance for the compassionate care they provided. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, August 22nd, at Our Lady of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 2224 45th St., at 10:30 a.m. To live stream Rosalie's service, please copy and paste https://client.tribucast.com/tcid/82122463 into your web browser at 10:30 a.m or click on the Photos & Videos tab and select "Watch Webcast". I am so sorry to hear of Rosalie's passing. I am a friend of Sabrina's from Madison and remember Rosalie as such a kind and caring person. A bunch of years ago, she made pot-holders for our kitchen. She made one with Packer's colors, and one - because she knew that we are OSU Buckeye fans - one with OSU colors. Rest in peace, Rosalie. Much love to the whole family. Dianna Murphy.

What a wonderful inspiration Rosalie was. She was deeply involved in almost every aspect of Holy Rosary and it's fundraisers. I am very glad that I had the opportunity to call her my friend and look forward to seeing her when it is my time to bask in the Glory of God. I will miss her until then.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Bob and his wonderful family. On behalf of my Mother Mary Rose as well as my sister Kathy, my wife Monajean and me … we will dearly miss Rosalie. Her and Bob and their family have been wonderful friends to my parents for many years. Since my father died in 1989 their friendship, nurturing and concern for mom cannot be described in words. Such a strong person, we take comfort knowing Rosalie is now home with her Lord and free of pain.

Every time I would visit with Rosalie over the later years, she would tell me how she remembered being at our Grandparent's home when my Mother and I arrived in this country and seeing us for the first time. She was 12 and I was two years old. I remember being at her and Bob's wedding 60 years ago and what a beautiful couple they made. Such a special lady, she will be truly missed by her family. Rest in Peace dear Cousin! -Wendy Arena Connaughton
