Dr. Vincent Corradino Rizzo

1943 ∼ 2019

Our strong and caring father, Dr. Vincent Corradino Rizzo, 76, of Kenosha carried his bride into their heavenly home on April 5, 2019, due to injuries from a tragic car accident. He was born on March 22, 1943, and married the love of his life, Mary Fulmer on June 29, 1968. Vince graduated from Kenosha High School and Marquette University School of Dentistry. He served in the 665th Dental Detachment in Korea with the U.S. Army Dental Corps from August 1969 to August 1970. He loved socializing with his patients and continued to work as a self-employed dentist until his untimely death. Vince enjoyed spending time with his best friend, Matt Sylejmani and walking at the YMCA. He was often found working in his vegetable garden, cutting grass and shoveling snow at home and his office (despite his children’s efforts to get him to stop), and absolutely loved playing with his grandchildren. He was a longtime member of the American Dental Association and Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Parish, where he served on the Finance Committee and volunteered at the annual festival for many years. He loved fishing, traveling, and attending his grandson’s sporting events. Vince was preceded in death by his parents, Corradino and Ida (Paura) Rizzo of Kenosha. He entered into Eternal Life with his wife of 50 years, Mary, and brother, Dr. Michael Rizzo. He was so proud of his children: Catherine (Ronald Fliess) Koessl of Pleasant Prairie, Dr. Vincent M. (Louisa) Rizzo of Pleasant Prairie, John (Laura) Rizzo of Shorewood, WI, and Dr. Janet (Ryan) Duemke of Hartland, WI and grandchildren: Vinny Rizzo, Roman Duemke, Bianca Rizzo, and Ramsey Duemke. He was so excited to see the addition of two more grandchildren by the end of the year: Gianni Michael Rizzo and Mary Duemke. He is further survived by his brother, Gerald Rizzo, and all of Mary’s siblings and spouses. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 12th, at Proko Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 13th, with a prayer service at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. and Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in All Saints Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association would be greatly appreciated.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Vincent’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

May God continue to comfort and guide you during this difficult time; and may the "peace of God that surpasses all understanding guard your heart and your mental powers". Philippians 4:7.

I only recently heard that Dr. Rizzo and his brother and sister-in-law were tragically killed by a drunk driver and I am angry and saddened beyond words. Dr. Rizzo was not only a good doctor but a good man, and I will miss him very much. My most heartfelt condolences to his staff and colleagues at the hospital, and all his family.

I saw Dr Rizzo on April 3,2019. Always with that lovely smile when he greets his patients, I was shocked and angry upon your death. I had been your patient for 22 years and developed a great relationship with you, my heart is broken, but I know God takes the blessed and you were blessed in many ways because you were loved by a whole community of professionals, family, office staff and your patients. You are irreplaceable and I will miss your smile, your kidding around and your caring spirit, RIP great Doctor.

Dr. Michael Rizzo was an outstanding physician, but it is more than that that I will love about him for the rest of my life - he was so funny, so full of life; I will remember his laugh for years to come. I cherish everything he taught me throughout my time as his medical assistant. Sending so much love and peace to the Rizzo family. I feel incredibly blessed to have known Mike and all of your incredible family.

I was in complete shock and disbelief when I heard of this tragedy. Dr. Rizzo was more than just my dentist for over 40 years, he was my friend. I can't believe he is gone. He was always there for me whenever I needed him as I'm sure he was for all his patients. I can't count the times he squeezed me in for an emergency. He was kind, compassionate, friendly and you could always talk to him about anything. I know I speak for all of his patients when I say he will truly be missed. He made a difference in our lives and we will never forget him. I am so sorry for your loss. Please accept my condolences and I will keep you all in my prayers.

I'm so sorry about Dr's passing. He was my dentist for at least 25 if not 30+ years. I loved feeling like family every time I walked in the door. My dad, mom, brother and I were all patients of his at one point or another. I won't ever drive down 39th ave past the office and not think of both of them. He was kind and funny and really cared about his patients. One funny thing he did was every single time I was in the office he would talk to me about Walgreens stock. I work there and he always had to tell me what he thought about the company, good or bad... :) The community will not be the same without Dr. and Mary in it. May they rest in peace together. I'm so sorry for your loss.

Along with God's promise to us at Revelation 21:3, 4 of sorrow, death, and pain being done away with permanently. It is my hope that this bit of information is of comfort to you. Please be sure to find further information regarding the resurrection at: JW.ORGMay God be with you.

Mary and Vince/Dr. and Mrs. Rizzo were beloved by family, friends, patients, colleagues and the entire community. I had the pleasure of knowing them for about 30 years through their wonderful children and they welcomed everyone as part of their extended family. I am forever grateful for having had the pleasure of knowing them. They were who we should aspire to be as parents, grandparents and spouses. They are angels in Heaven! God bless!

I was a patient of Dr. Rizzo for over 40 years. Vince and Mary were both wonderful people. I was in total shock when I heard of this tragedy and am not ashamed to say I started to cry. We all talked about so many things when I was there, and Mary would often come and sit with me in the waiting room, so we could discuss Avon. I will never forget either of them. Prayers and sympathy to the entire family.

We have been patients of Dr. Rizzo for over 25 years, my mother in law for much longer. He & Mary were always so warm and friendly. They always remembered personal things that had been chatted about over the years. They both spoke of their family with love very often and most recently talked about their family trip for their 50th anniversary with their children. May they both rest in peace, along with Dr. Michael Rizzo. Your entire family is in our thoughts and prayers. You have some wonderful people watching over you now. Bless you all. Lisa & Pat Weber

Alexandra Fodor April 10, 2019
I’ve been a patient of Dr. Rizzo and Mary for over 14 years... time flies... they followed me from my first job through every change and remembered every little detail, as if they were my own grandparents... Dr Rizzo always asked where I was traveling, and they shared their traveling experiences as well. My favorite thing was when he started humming a little song as he was working... The news of their tragic passing is truly painful, as they were not just my dentist and his wife - they were family. Few weeks ago when I was there last time, I asked if I could take some cuttings of their office plants to propagate them, and now I look at these cuttings and watch them grow... I will forever cherish these plants and keep the memory of Dr Rizzo and his beloved Mary in my heart. May they rest in peace, and may their memory make their loved ones left behind always smile and happy to have had such wonderful parents, grandparents, brothers and sisters. My deepest condolences to the family. Alexandra

Dr. Michael Rizzo was our family physician for over 20 years. But he was more than that to us. He was like family, kind, compassionate and caring. Dr. Rizzo and his staff, including Teresa and Peggy, were a special team. What an incredible loss. Our hearts are broken. We pray for comfort and strength for the Rizzo family and all those whose lives were touched by Michael, Vincent and Mary.

Words cannot adequately express the sorrow my wife and I feel at hearing about the passing of Dr. Rizzo. He was the single best primary-care-physician we have ever had, both personally and professionally, and his absence will not go unnoticed for a substantial amount of time. In the USAF, when we lost a comrade, we always shouted-out, "A Toast" at formal Dining-in's ceremonies and recited the words of a traditional AF poem. Dr. Rizzo is certainly worthy of such an honor. R.I.P good man.
Maria Adamiec April 9, 2019
Dr Rizzo and Mary, you will always be in our hearts. You will be remembered with LOVE!!! Maria Adamiec with family

Two wonderful people have left us! Dr. Vince was my family's dentist for years. He was such a caring person. I considered him a good friend as well as my dentist. Mary (Cathy to those who knew her way back), was the big sister to my friend, Jodi Fulmer. Vince and Mary were so proud of their children and adored their grandchildren. My heart breaks for their family. This is such a tragedy. So many of us will miss this wonderful couple.Sue Griffiths Hackbarth

Deeply saddened; what a tragic loss. I will remember Dr. always with a smile. Wonderful people, wonderful friends. Praying for all the family.Sincerest sympathy to all the family.

Dr. Rizzo was my physician at Aurora for over 10 years. He was a great doctor and such a kind, compassionate man. He always had a smile and remembered to ask me about my kids and my family. He saw me through two pregnancies and routine care since. I doubt I will find a doctor like him. My heart goes out to his family and friends. May he Rest In Peace.
