Mary Gallagher (nee Reynolds) passed away peacefully on January 17, 2019 at the age of 92. Mary brought smiles and laughter to those who knew and loved her. She was born in Jersey City, New Jersey on December 27, 1926, to John and Louise (Pichot) Reynolds. She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, James, in 2000, her sister Jane Gillespie and her brother John Reynolds. She will be greatly missed by her children Kathryn (Dean Crane) and David (Kathleen O’Malley), her sister Louise (Tom) Rempe, and many dear friends. Mary grew up during the Great Depression, but never wanted for a happy home and the love of family. She proudly told stories of her youth and teenage years, of summers spent in the countryside of Jersey and “down the shore,” and seeing a young Frank Sinatra for a dime in New York City. She had what she would often call a “big job” as the secretary to the head of the New York Stock Exchange, and nobody could type faster or more accurately. After marrying, she became a loving and supportive homemaker, living primarily in the Midwest but always remaining a Jersey Girl at heart. After her children were grown, she later returned to full-time work in real estate, which she found very rewarding. Always ready for fun, she made friends quickly and easily at every point in her life. We will miss her good humor and generous heart, but her love of cooking will live on in her kids. A memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, January 24th, at St. Peters Catholic Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dementia Society of America.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Mary’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

Kathy and David, your mother adored you both. I see her smiling at Fitzgeralds over Mothers Day 2 years ago. She was the queen holding court. People who knew her from years before, stopped at her table to chat with her. We were so blessed to have her bless our new home in 2016. Because my own mother was unable to bless it, we asked Mary. Your mom blessed the outside and every room on the inside. Kathy you know she was your biggest fan. Hugs to you as you send her on her way to your dad.

My heart is saddened to hear the news. I am so grateful to have met you. You were the only female customer that I had as a caregiver but one of my favorites. Your humor and conversations were always welcomed. My daughter Chloe will miss you too and still has the shells you gave her. John Valadez - former caregiver and friend

Dear family, the pain and emptiness of heart is great and seems like they will never diminish when those we love are taken by the enemy death. We all have been grieved or are grieving at the present time. Almighty God (Psalm 83:18) promised to remove all pain, suffering and death forever. (Revelation 21:3,4) Yes, the Bible gives us a great hope and help us all to endure. Think of the time when you can welcome Mary Elizabeth and others that will be called from the memorial tombs to life on a peaceful earth. (John 5:28 & 29, Acts 24:15) Yes, Almighty God has made provisions to give eternal life on a peaceful earth. (Psalm 37:9, Psalm 37:29) Please build your faith and confidence because Titus 1:2 tells us that "God cannot lie."
