It is with great sadness that the family of Joseph Frank Schiavi, 33, of Kenosha, announces his unexpected passing, due to sustained injuries of a motorcycle accident, on Sunday, September 2, 2018. Born in Kenosha on January 25, 1985, he was the son of Vincenzo and the late Maria (Casalena) Schiavi. Joseph was a lifelong resident of Kenosha, who graduated from Reuther High School in 2003. On July 25, 2009, he married his high school sweetheart, Rossella (Ruffolo) Schiavi at Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Kenosha, WI. Joseph was most recently employed as a construction worker but held multiple careers prior. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved to hunt and fish. Aside from that, he will be remembered for being pure of heart. He was always helpful to those in need and enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially keeping old traditions alive. One of the many traditions that he loved doing with his family was making his homemade wine and Italian dried salami. Above all else, regardless of his present state, Joseph always cherished the time he spent with his wife and four beautiful, adoring children. Through his children, his legacy of a pure heart of gold will carry on forever. Surviving Joseph are his wife, Rossella (Ruffolo); daughter, LiaMaria Francesca; three sons, Joseph Vincenzo, Matteo Mario, and Francesco Gabriel; his father, Vincenzo Schiavi; four siblings, Phillip, Gabriel (Joy), Rosemary (Jon), and Barbara; a nephew, Franco; four nieces, Marissa, Priscilla, Nicole, and Olivia; and two great-nephews, Toretto and Ashton. He is further survived by several loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Joseph was welcomed into Heaven with open arms from God and his mother Maria (Casalena) Schiavi, and his parental grandparents and his father-in-law, Francesco Ruffolo. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, September 8th, at Proko Funeral Home, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 7307 40th Avenue, at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family to be used for his children would be appreciated.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-353Visit & Sign Joseph’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

To My Dear Schiavi Family, I came into town for my youngest son's wedding on 12/30/18 and stayed for the birth of my 1st grandchild on 1/18/19. I text a friend, and asked how the family was doing; a text came back. As I read...Joe died..I dropped to the floor and cried. I cried.Crying is a way your eyes speak when your mouth cant explain how broken your heart is.Goodbyes hurt when the story is not finished and the book has been closed. I met this man when he was 21. Movie star good looks with a personality that filled the room with a smile. I deeply grieve for his children and his wife. Joe has a family who loved him with their whole hearts; I also worry about this family too. Joe's Father Vince, Siblings Phillipo,Rosemary,Gabe,&Barb, and the partners of all of them. I'm certain the Schiavi Family will never stop grieving Joe because they will never stop loving him. That's just how it is. Grief and love are conjoined, you don't get one without the other. To the Schiavi Family, my heart goes out to you. May God help you with your journey. To Joe, kid...I loved you. I had a niece die last year at 26---Joe--give her a hug for me will ya? Much heart felt Love to all that loved you Joe-Joe. Until we meet again fella---Love, Sue

I am so incredibly sorry. Joe was a wonderful person and friend. I first met him and Vince playing soccer for the Kenosha Thunder when we were much much younger. He was always smiling and making everyone around him happier. I wish the best for your family.

Joey was a childhood friend that will always be remembered by me with the fondest of memories from our youth soccer days on Kenosha Thunder. His smile, laugh, and golden heart will be missed. Unfortunately I will be unable to make the wake so I wanted to reach out in some form to show my love. God Bless Joey and his family. In the words of Mr. Schiavi (his father), "Joe! Take a lap!"
