Glen Jack Nixon Jr.

1956 ∼ 2018

Glen Jack Nixon Jr.
Glen Jack Nixon, Jr., 62, of Trevor, passed away on Saturday, August 18, 2018, at his home. Born in Chicago, IL, he was the son of the late Glen and Rosalie (Scalate) Nixon, Sr. Glen served his country in the United States Army from May 7, 1975, until his honorable discharge on September 20, 1976. After the Army, he worked in construction pouring concrete for many years. When it was time for something different, he started driving a truck, which gave him a chance to see many states across the country. Glen was known by many people, especially those closest to him as Bo, a nickname he got from his sister when they were children, when brother was a little too much to pronounce. It has stuck ever since. Bo was very much a laid back all American man. He of course, enjoyed hunting and fishing. Bo also loved his occasional whiskey and cigars. He loved his sports, especially baseball. Every Monday he would watch WWE Monday Night Raw with his best friend and WWE Smackdown every Tuesday. Every Sunday night was pizza night. It didn’t matter who was coming over, but whoever you were you better like pizza because there was no cooking on Sundays. Bo’s family and friends meant so much to him. He was that helpful neighbor who would always lend a helping hand to a friend in need. He was also a loving father and grandfather, constantly giving life advice or always just had something to say. He loved reminiscing with his brother and sister about their childhood during family dinners or get togethers, like how he decided one spring it would be a great idea to burn all of his Christmas toys right next to the house. He loved his nieces and nephew so much, one year just to see their faces light up, he dressed up as Santa Clause to make Christmas morning just a little more special. Survivors include his siblings, Brian Nixon and Sue Zimmer, both of Trevor; a sister-in-law, Laura Erickson; a daughter, Melissa (Aaron) Rathbone of Madison; a granddaughter, Autumn Rathbone; a nephew, Jason Nixon; and two nieces, Jenny (Sean) Dyra and Jeanette (Zachary) Stanley. He was preceded in death his father, Glen Jack Nixon, Sr.; his mother, Rosalie (Scalate) Nixon; and his brother, Greg K. Nixon. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 28th, at Christ Lutheran Church, 24929-75th Street, Salem, WI, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held on Tuesday at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Union Grove, WI, at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions for funeral and memorial expenses would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Glen’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

This isn't a condolence message, but just a message from me -your daughter. I had to write something. I am so sorry I wasn't here for you. And I know exactly what you would say to that.. In your soft, but slightly gruff voice you would say,"Oh, baby don't you worry about that" Because that's just you. You wouldn't want me to feel guilty. But I do. I feel terrible that you didn't get to see your granddaughter enough. I feel like I could have done so much more. Guilt is such an automatic emotion that comes with losing someone you love and someone so close to you. And it hurts. I miss you so much. And right now I don't now how I'll move past this, but I know I have to for my girl, and I know you can help me through it. I know you'll always be with me and watching over your baby girls. Give my grandpa's and grandma Rose hugs for me. All my love,Melissa
