Marlene B. Gelsone, 75, of Kenosha passed away peacefully Monday, July 16, 2018 surrounded by family at her residence. She was born on June 19, 1943 to the late Victor J. and Lorraine (Jacob) Sturman. A lifelong Kenosha resident; graduating from Bradford, and Racine Cosmetology. In June of 1977, she married the late Frank Joseph Gelsone. Marlene owned and operated Marlene’s Key to Hair Fashion in downtown Kenosha for over 30 years, as well as a second location inside of Lakeside Towers. She was employed by American Motors for 27 years; and owned and operated VJ’s Lounge for 20 years. She was President of the Wednesday Night Pool League. Marlene will be remembered for her strong work ethic, her sternness and willingness to help both family and friends alike. She thrived in the kitchen, making delicious Italian food. She was an avid Chicago sports fan. She loved the Bears, Bulls, and Cubs. Marlene enjoyed decorating for every holiday, especially Christmas. One of her greatest joys was vacationing in Florida and Northern Wisconsin. Survivors include her son, Todd (Kay Cornell) Gotta; brother, Victor (Gloria) Sturman; sister-in-law, Rosemary Heether of Racine; uncle, William (Kay) Jacob; nieces, Jaclyn and Jennifer; cousins, Gayle Weber, Bruce Jacob, Jayne Phillips and Robert Sturman. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
