Barbara Elaine Tennessen, 80, of Somers, passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2018, at her residence. Born in Kenosha, on November 24, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Leo J. and Florence R. (Miller) Marion. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. On August 30, 1958, she married George J. Tennessen at St. Marks Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 18, 1993. Barbara owned and help operate Tennessen’s Transmission Service for 32 years, she also worked at Snap-On Tools and at Travel Agents International. Barbara donated much of her time as a member of St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, she was also a member of the Catholic Women’s Club, and she helped the St. Vincent de Paul Society with their food pantry program. Survivors include her son, Steven (Beth) Tennessen of Huntington Beach, CA; two grandsons, Codi Tennessen and Connor Giombetti; and a sister, Judie (William) Metallo. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Renee Elaine Giombetti on June 30, 2017; her sister, Linda (Marion) Lakvold; and brother, Ronald Marion. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 18th, at Proko Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, May 21st, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4816 7th Avenue, at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. George Cemetery.
