Kathleen M. Hilty, 77, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee. Born in Kenosha on December 18, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Ellen (Keating) Schmitz. A lifelong resident of Kenosha, she was educated in local schools. On May 10, 1960, she married Douglas C. Hilty. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1997. Kathy was employed as a manager at US Bank her entire career until her retirement and in her spare time, volunteered at Women and Children’s Horizons. She enjoyed traveling; especially to Israel and Jerusalem which she visited three times, ceramic working, keeping a beautifully maintained home and meticulously manicured lawn. Above all else, Kathy loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and was known to spoil her grand-cats as well. Survivors include her three daughters, Denise (Randy) Stevens, Deborah (Mark) Korecz, and Dawn Hilty; eight grandchildren, Michelle, Angela, Courtney, Wesley, Kristine, Andrew, Anthony, and Samantha; and eight great-grandchildren. She is further survived by three brothers, James (Jan) Schmitz, Edward (Carol) Schmitz, and Eugene Schmitz; and a sister, Barbara Montoya. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas E. Hilty; sister-in-law, Jeanne Schmitz; and two grandchildren in infancy. Services for Kathy were held privately.
