Loretta M. “Lori” Venet, 80, was born an only child in Waukegan, IL, on January 14, 1938, to the late Frank and Vincentcia “Winnie” Stanovnik. She married her soul mate, Michael S. Venet, who preceded her in death in 1996. Together they traveled the world with friends and family. Lori enjoyed her work for many years as a Civil Servant at Great Lakes Naval Base and as a Coach to several local cheerleading squads. Beloved by her sons – Michael G. Venet (Cary, IL) and Patrick G. Venet (Kenosha, WI) and adored by her grandsons – Michael J., Colin G., Kyle J., and Alec G. Venet. Her most cherished memories were summers fishing, swimming and boating with her husband and family at their lake house and her friendships with her lifelong gal pals from Waukegan, IL. Lori was blessed with the daughters she always longed for – her God Daughter Maria Krause Colaberdino and daughters-in-law Kathleen Venet and Candie Stevenson. Each maintained close, special bonds with her throughout her life. Her final journey ascending from this life, took place peacefully on March 19, 2018, at the Addison of Pleasant Prairie, with the aid of Hospice. Along with her she took her beautiful smile, gentle spirit, and kind heart. Our family and friends will keep these memories with us always. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 25th, at Proko Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Progressive Supranuclear Palsy Foundation (www.curepsp.org) would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Loretta’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com

From picking Pat and me up when we were locked out of a car in another city some decades ago to asking me how my kids are decades later; Mrs. V was and remained a sweet, kind, soul.My heart goes out to the Venet family and to the Stanovnik family. You are in my thoughts and prayers.
