Phyllis Mary Kovach, 83, of Kenosha, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2018, at Brookside Care Center. Born in Racine on November 10, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Leonard and Mary (Gallo) Antinucci. On July 25, 1959, she married Albert Kovach at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church. Phyllis worked as a teacher’s aide for the Winthrop Harbor School District. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church and an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago Bears. She loved playing softball when she was younger and helped coach volleyball and softball when her children played. Survivors include her husband, Albert Kovach of Kenosha; five children, Shelby (Keith) Riley of Kenosha, Brenda Lee (Ricky) Miller of Paddock Lake, Marge (Chris) Davis of Cedar Rapids, IA, Michelle Kovach of Kenosha and Theresa (Doug Newman) Kovach of Kenosha; a sister, Mary Anne Uttech of Appleton, WI; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and her favorite German Shepherd, Bella. She was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Schuler; and four brothers, Joe Antinucci, John Antinucci, Robert Antinucci and Angelo Antinucci. Phyllis’ family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Giuseppe Garretto, the staff at Brookside Care Center, and Hometown Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they gave her. So sorry for the loss of my friend and former co worker. Phyllis was a pleasure to work with at North Prairie. I missed her when she retired. I pray that she will be at peace and home to glorify the heavens. Til we meet again my friend. God bless to you all in this time of sorrow.
