Benjamin Lyle Weiher
Benjamin Lyle Weiher, 74, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Froedtert South-Kenosha Medical Center Campus. He was born in Onalaska, WA, on August 31, 1943, to the late Hermann and Martha (Perona) Weiher. After school, Ben proudly joined and served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer until his honorable discharge in 1963. For his career, he was employed as a metal fabricator at American Brass Company in Kenosha. Later, he drove school bus and enjoyed working with children. Ben enjoyed having lunch with his friends at Salute Italian Restaurant, going hunting and fishing, being a Packer and Brewers fan, telling stories of his military adventures, and spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his children, Sandra, Benji, and Alex (Carolyn) Weiher; grandchildren, Matthew, Austin, Kylee, Anton, Cheyenne, Stanley, Shawn, Brittany, and Cody; two great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Herman Weiher, Betty Turner, Bea Kneting, Brenda (Del) Suehring, Kenny (Mary) Weiher, and Connie Gailbraith. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Weiher; brothers, George, Jim, and Lee Weiher; and a sister, Mary Schroeder. Visitation for Ben will be held on Monday, February 19th, at Proko Funeral Home, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military honors.
