Rosario “Russell” Stellato, 92, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 22, 2018, at Kenosha Senior Living. Born on June 11, 1925, in Cosenza, Italy, he was the son of the late Giosue “Carmen” and Vincenza (Giordano) Stellato. In June of 1948, he moved to Kenosha. On April 28, 1951, he married Mary Metallo. Russell was a great mechanic, that could fix anything. He worked for AMC Chrysler until his retirement. He was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. He loved digging and planting in his garden; he even had his own orchard. In his younger years, he was known as a good tennis player. He enjoyed playing cards, taking pictures, and traveling. He attended the 1984 Olympics in Yugoslavia and traveled Italy many times. He made his own Italian meats and wine. Russell is survived by his loving wife, Mary of Kenosha; three children, Janet Pynaker of Racine, Vickie Stellato of Union Grove and Cindy Bree of California; three grandchildren, Andrea (Anthony) Cervini, Rachel Pynaker and Justin Gohlke; and one great-grandchild, Ava Cervini. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Julia and Lena; and two brothers, Albert and John. Prayers will be held on Monday, January 29th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:45 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 28th, at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Memorials to Our Lady of Mt.
