Donald J. Ruef, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Monroe, WI, on September 15, 1930, he was the son of the late John and Rossie (King) Ruef. On February 6, 1960, he married Carol Ann Barnes in Kenosha. Donald was an Alderman in Kenosha for several years and was on many committees including City Plan Commission. Politics were a huge part of his life. He also owned his own businesses and enjoyed spending time with his large family. Survivors include his wife, Carol Ruef; two sons, Donald (Susan) Torkelson and Chris (Theresa) Torkelson; sister, Donna Jean (Keith) Edmonds; brother, Duane (Mary) Ruef; eight grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren. He is further survived by many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel Ruef; daughter, Joy Sconzert; and a grandson, Timothy Torkelson.
