Galen Prouty was a good man. He was a good neighbor who was always kind and offering to help others. He loved to talk about his sweet wife, children and grandchildren. He will be missed by all who had the good fortune of knowing Galen Prouty.

Galen was a friend of my brother, Russ, and our entire family. My parents, Fred and Louise, loved receiving phone calls from him from all parts of the world and all hours of the night and day as he served our country. My mom’s favorite story was what she found bringing me home from the hospital as a newborn 60 years ago. Galen, 15 years old, had come to our house before she arrived cleaning the house and baking a cake. She was so appreciative and completely delighted. She knew his understanding of being a help came from his experience in his home with new babies and the teachings of his dear mother, Kate. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of you from the Barton family.
