Thomas J. Vena
Thomas J. Vena, 70, of Kenosha, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, October 23, 2017, at Aurora Medical Center. Born in Kenosha, on April 3, 1947, he was the son of the late Anthony J. and Susan (Russo) Vena. He attended Lincoln Elementary, McKinley Jr. High, Bradford High School, and was the first graduating class of Tremper High School in 1965. He served in the United States Army from June 1966 until he was honorably discharged in May of 1969. On October 24, 1970, he married Linda Brewer at St. George Catholic Church. Tom was employed by AMC/Chrysler as a Superintendent in the paint department. He also worked at Motorola/Sylvania. After his retirement, he worked part time for Sheridan Lanes and for Flowers with Love delivering flowers. He was a member of the Roma Lodge and the Italian American Society. He was an avid bowler, bowling with the Sunday AM league since the early 1970’s, he also served as secretary. He enjoyed golfing and attending Brewers games, especially Opening Day, where he celebrated his birthday every year with his daughter and brother. Tom is survived by his loving wife, Linda; his beloved daughter, Kristine (Eric) Volmar of Franklin; his brother, Don (Carol) Vena of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Mary Ziccarelli and Cathy (Tony) Ziccarelli, both of Kenosha; his sister-in-law, Kathy (Charles) Funk of Pleasant Prairie; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 26th, at Proko Funeral Home at 8:00 p.m. followed by military honors. Interment will be private. The sudden passing of Tom has left me with a very empty feeling. I remember chatting with him at our 50th high school reunion and his smile seemed infectious.
