Harold Edward Putrow, 87, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, at his home with his family by his side. Born in Kenosha on August 7, 1930, he was the son of the late Carl and Gladys (Looker) Putrow. A lifetime resident of Kenosha, he was educated in local schools. Harold served in the United States Army in Germany from 1951, until his honorable discharge in 1954. On March 11, 1956, he was united in marriage to Gloria Senatore at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. Harold was employed at American Motors, and spent the rest of his career working at Great Lakes Naval Base, from which he retired. He enjoyed golfing, horse races, fishing at the cabin in Crivitz, exercising, and was an avid Packers, Cubs, and Brewers fan. Most of all, Harold enjoyed going on many beautiful trips, and rides down by the lake and getting a treat. Harold was a member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, the VFW, and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Surviving are his wife, Gloria Putrow of Kenosha; his two children, Michael (Rose) Putrow and Shelley (Robert) Bohm, both of Racine, WI; a brother, Vernon Putrow; a brother-in-law, Richard Senatore; three grandchildren, Natalie (Peter) Baldus, Joseph (Allison Langham) Putrow, and Alyssa Bohm; and two great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Vera Baldus. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Putrow; and a sister, Jean Brandes. The family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses at Kenosha Hospital in the cardiopulmonary rehabilitation center, the staff at Hospice Alliance, and Society’s Assets for their compassionate care. Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 21st, at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 1919-54th Street, from 9:30 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. followed by full military honors. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the DAV and Hospice Alliance would be appreciated by the family.Proko Funeral Home & Crematory5111-60th StreetKenosha, WI 53144Phone: (262) 654-3533Visit & Sign Harold’s Online Memorial Book at:www.prokofuneralhome.com
