Elizabeth Marie “Betty” Wienke, 94, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Aurora Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. Born in Racine on April 19, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Abbie (Weins) MacDonald. On November 11, 1940, she married Vernon Wienke. He preceded her in death in 1990. Betty was a Personal Banker, along with leading the “Encore Club” at Heritage Bank until her retirement. She was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, was the first woman chairman for the Advisory Board for the Salvation Army, led the Kenosha Business Woman’s Club, and taught line dancing at the Senior Center upon her retirement for 5 years. Betty is survived by her son, David Wienke of Kenosha; 12 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Ralph MacDonald. She will be remembered for her sewing skills, Christmas cookies, Easter egg hunts and great family picnics. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Vernon and Robert Wienke; her daughter, Kathleen Haller; and six siblings, Robert, Earl, Glen, Peggy, Nancy, Richard and Ruth. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, September 13th, at Proko Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
