David J. Gensicke
David J. Gensicke, 83, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 8, 2017, at Hospice Alliance Hospice House surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cedar Rapids, IA, on April 20, 1934, he was the son of the late Everett L. and Marjorie E. (Miller) Gensicke. He attended schools in Iowa, Illinois and Wisconsin before graduating from Waukesha High School in 1952. He went on to graduate from UW-Madison in 1956 with a BBA Degree and was also a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. David served in the United Sates Army from 1956 until his honorable discharge in 1958. On October 20, 1984, he married Patricia Laudonio Puterbaugh. David worked as a national bank examiner before coming to The First National Bank of Kenosha in 1968. He retired from the bank in 1996. He later worked part time as a bailiff for Judge Wilk for ten years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, life member of Wisconsin Alumni Association, past president of UW Alumni Club of Kenosha and recipient of the clubs Distinguished Service Award in 1991. He was also a member of the Wauwatosa Lodge 267 F&AM, member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite-Valley of Milwaukee, member of SCI (Stein Collectors International), member and past president of the Jolly Stein Hunters of Wisconsin, and member of the Vagabond Ski Club of Milwaukee. He enjoyed collecting antique German beer steins, gardening, bicycling and rooting for the Wisconsin Badgers and Green Bay Packers. He is survived by his wife, Patricia; four step children, Jeff, Kurt (Suzanne), Brad and Tara (Louis Natole) Puterbaugh; four grandchildren, Nathan Prince, and Gabriel, Sofia and Isabella Puterbaugh; and two brothers-in-law, Robert (Lynda) and Michael (Floy) Laudonio. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 12th, at First United Methodist Church, 919-60th Street, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with military honors to follow. Entombment will be private.
