Jan S. Kubicki

1938 ∼ 2017

Jan S. Kubicki
Jan Sylvester Kubicki passed away peacefully on Monday, September 4, 2017, at his home. Born June 24, 1938, in Poland, to the late Jan and Marianna (Zubrowskich) Kubicki, he later came to the United States to join his family. He was attracted by the promise of a better life and the hope of the American dream. A lifelong parishioner of St. Casimir’s Church, he wed Irene Chromik in October 1965, and together they raised seven beautiful children. He was employed at MacWhyte Wire Rope Company for several years until retiring in 1973. Upon his retirement, Jan further pursued his dream by purchasing and managing several real estate properties. He also opened Babcia’s European Deli on the north side of Kenosha to share his cherished Polish traditions with the community. Boating, working with his hands and road trips around the city in his prized Ford F150 were other things Jan enjoyed. Jan’s love for his family was demonstrated by providing for all that they needed with an unparalleled work ethic and insistence on the best. Surviving are his wife Irene, his children, Wanda Jaraczewski (John), Alina (Mike Lee), David, Paul (Tracey), Julie, Sharon, and Amanda, along with his grandchildren Christian, Jacob, Liliana, Johnny and Everett. He is also survived by his brothers Andrzej (Jadzia), Kazimierz (Krystyna), Tadeusz (Lynn) and Edward (Mary) Kubicki, as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. "Come to me, all ye who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28. A special thank you and appreciation to Dr. Scott Feldy, Dr. A. J. Capelli and the Aurora At-Home Hospice Team. Private funeral services were held. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Aurora At-Home Hospice are appreciated.
