LaVerne Rose Urban, 91, of Pleasant Prairie, died late Friday, August 25, 2017, surrounded by her sons at UHS-St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus. She was born April 18, 1926 in Kenosha. The daughter of the late George J. and Helen (Maurice) Bauschelt. LaVerne attended St. George Elementary and Mary D. Bradford High School. In 1943, she met the love of her life, while working at the Dutch Maid in Kenosha, George E. Urban Sr., as he was serving in the Navy. They were married June 2, 1945 at St. George Parish Kenosha, with her cousin Reverend Claude Klotz officiating his first wedding. A loving wife of almost 72 years. A devoted homemaker, she loved her yardwork, gardening, listening to her radio programs and ball games. A lifelong member of St. Mark’s Parish Kenosha, she participated in many church and school activities. LaVerne is survived by her two sons, George Jr. and Gregory Urban both of Somers; and many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George in March, a sister, Edna C. (Van Kammen) Neff and her brother, Kenneth H. Bauschelt. The family would like to thank St. Catherine’s Medical Center Campus and Grande Prairie Health and Rehab for their caring service. Also, a thank you for Father Jerry Hessel, St. Mark’s Parish and Father Robert McDermott from Mt. Carmel Parish. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 31st, at St. Mark’s Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will be private. Visitation will be held Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
