Earl T. Beckmann, 88, of Kenosha, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 29, 2017, at his residence. Born in Kenosha on August 31, 1928, he was the son of the late John and Ruth (Earl) Beckmann. On September 10, 1960, he married Bertha Myer at Immaculate Conception Church in Waukegan, IL, with a Latin Mass. She preceded him in death on October 16, 2011. As a young man, he sang professionally in the Chicago area. Later, he moved into sales working for Snap-on Tools, most recently specializing in Diecast Tool Sales for Ladish and DTI. Earl worked into his 70’s and truly enjoyed working. He loved meeting and talking to people. Earl was a member of St. James Catholic Church and a former member of St. Therese Catholic Church. He was very involved with both churches, acting as an usher at both churches and taught Catechism at St. Therese Catholic Church. He was a member of MGV Harmonia German Men’s Chorus, an Honorary Member of the United Hospital Cardiac Healthcare Gym and of the Zoological Society of Milwaukee. He was a member of the 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus Council 973 and 4th Degree Archbishop Messmer Assembly 1201 for over 50 years. He loved to spend time with his children and granddaughter, attending all her events. He also enjoyed going out to eat and traveling near and far. He spent a lot of time in Eagle River with his daughter and granddaughter and greatly enjoyed traveling the world on cruises. He went on many cruises with his beloved wife and family. He was a huge fan of the arts, attending plays and musicals from Fireside Theater to Lincolnshire all the way to Drury Lane. He immensely appreciated life. Earl is survived by his three children, Allan (Ty) Beckmann of Milwaukee, Dr. Kathleen Beckmann of Greenfield, and Dr. Michael (Karen) Beckmann of Springfield, IL; and one grandchild, Helena Sluzenski. Earl was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Allan and John Beckmann, and one sister, Donna Becwar. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 4th, at Proko Funeral Home at 9:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at St. James Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at All Saints Mausoleum. I worked with your dad at DTI for all the years he was there. He was like another father figure to me, taught me a lot about life and made me smile whenever we talked. What a great man! I will miss him at our company picnic this weekend. He always showed up and I enjoyed catching up with him every year.

I knew Mr Beckmann since youth as a friend of Kathleen and will remember him as a very caring man dedicated to his family with a great sense of humor. Al knew him as a great contributor to the MGV Harmonia choir. Our sincere condolences.

Elsie enjoyed our trips with bertha and earl. We had many good times with them. They were very good friends. Elsie was there friend longer then I was. I will be at the funeral. Ken Rosenthal
