Evelyn V. Anderson, 94, of Kenosha, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Brookdale Pleasant Prairie, surrounded by her loving family. Born in Camp Douglas, WI, on October 5, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Antone and Amelia (Jensen) Peterson. There she attended local schools and graduated from New Lisbon High School. On November 20, 1943, she married Henry “Andy” Anderson at Kearns Army Air Corps Base in Salt Lake City, UT. In 1945, after Andy finished serving in the military, they moved to Kenosha to make their home. He preceded her in death on February 9, 2007. Evelyn and Andy were the owners of several restaurants in Kenosha, including Keno Coffee-Cup, Keno Coffee Pot, Rapid Transit Station Restaurant, and finally, for the last 56 years, “Andy’s” on the corner of 63rd Street and 23rd Avenue. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Her hobbies included golfing, bowling, taking care of her flowers, and feeding the birds in her yard. Evelyn was also known to bake delicious pies for family, friends, and neighbors. Surviving are her five sons and daughters-in-law, Richard (Bonnie) of Lake Zurich, IL, Gary (Kathleen) of Pleasant Prairie, WI, Robert (Susan) of Lansing, MI, William (Anita) of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Kenneth (Pam) of Pleasant Prairie, WI; 16 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Evelyn will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Leslie, Lewis, Vernon, and Douglas Peterson; and two sisters, Elizabeth Nelson and Anna Mae English. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 3rd, at the First Presbyterian Church, 1803-83rd Street at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Sunset Ridge Memorial Park.
