Donald Wayne Norcross, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 13, 2017, at St. Joseph’s Rehab. Don was born in Kenosha on July 18, 1925, to Kenneth and Myrtle (Scholey) Norcross. He was educated in Kenosha schools, graduating from Kenosha High School in 1943. Don enlisted upon turning 18 to serve in World War II in the Army Air Corps from 1943-1946 in the Pacific Theater. Upon returning, he attended the University of Wisconsin, graduating from the School of Pharmacy. Don went on to work as a pharmacist, for a short time at Lincoln Drug, then for the rest of his career at Park Drug. Don was a member of the Wisconsin Pharmaceutical Association and the UW Alumni Association. On September 1, 1951, he married Dolores Hessefort. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage. Don was a thoughtful and caring husband and father with a wonderful sense of humor and joy of living. Don loved his six children very much and was proud of them always. He enjoyed playing bridge with his friends, and also played couples bridge for many years. Throughout his life, he enjoyed golfing and bowling with family and friends, and was a lifetime Wisconsin Badger fan. Don is survived by his wife, Dolores, and his six children, Brad (the late Linda) of Appleton, Bob (Nancy) of Madison, Barbara (Tom Flynn) of Reedsburg, Sue (Jan Dyke) of Menomonee Falls, Nancy (the late Tim) Brennan of Sussex, and Carol (Andy) Schroeder of Pleasant Prairie, and 12 grandchildren, Katie, Joe, Breanne, Evan (Pat), David, Erin (Jarrett), Alexandra, Elena, Nicole, Melissa, Jarod, and Andrea. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Shirley, and his brother Kenneth. Don’s family would like to thank Dr. Prakash Shah, Dr. Scott Feldy, the staff of St. Joseph’s Rehab, and Hospice Alliance for their excellent and compassionate care.
